Pre-Season Action: Premiers beat Ponsoby 37 - 17

The Premiers started the season off well with a hard fought victory over a well organised Ponsonby side 37 -17. The game was a very hard fought affair with a strong wind playing its part to cause many knock on's during the match and causing more than one kick to go astray. Coach Pita Alatini gave his full squad of 26 a good run and they responded running in 7 tries to 3. “It was a good start to our season, it has given us plenty to work on going forward as we look forward to the Waka Nathan semi-final against Marist. 3 of our tries came in the last 15 minutes which pays testament to the hard work the squad has been doing under trainer Grant Borrill” said Alatini.

Point Scores for Pakuranga

Tries: Jean-Pierre Potigieter (2), Sam Thomas, Mose Wilson, Sio Petelo-Vili, Lino Tiatia, David Maka

The break for Easter will give the squad a chance to recover from this bruising encounter as they look forward to the semi-final on the 2nd April @ 2.45pm on Bell Park
