Belles join the action

The Belles join the party this weekend with four senior teams taking the field in competition matches.

In their first match of the season the Belles will host Otahuhu at home. Shari Hohepa and Georgia Smyth co-captain the side that features 10 debutants.

The Under 21s will look to continue their dominant start to 2025 which sees them two from two with a positive points difference of 159. They will travel to Eden who are currently sitting middle of the table.

Jakin McCabe again captains from the side of the scrum while Boston Krone brings his experience to halfback. There are three potential debutants on the bench in Joey Salaivao, Nicolas Webster and Blessing Sakaria.

The Prem 2s are away to Manukau for their second competition match of the season. Last Thursday they had a strong win over East Tamaki and have made a few changes to the run on XV.

In the forwards, Mosese Waqabaca, Glyn Morete and Jimmy Tuifua get their first starts, while Tremain Little will start at first five-eighth after previous appearances off the bench.

For the Prem 1s it’s a tough away assignment at Marist. After a narrow win over Waitemata in Round 1, our lads will be looking to back up with another positive result, while Marist will be looking for their first win after a two-point loss to Ponsonby last weekend.

Moses Hafoka is back in the number 2 jersey to captain the side, while Sean Carter returns to the number 5 jersey.

George Simms nabs his first start at halfback while Cruiz Overend moves to the wing and Oisin Dunn starts at fullback. Matt Gorrie moves up from the Prem 2s onto the bench as loose forward cover among a strong group of impact players.
