Four senior teams are in action at the club tomorrow with Prem 1, Prem 2 and Under 21s into the second round their season and the Belles hosting a pre season hit out.
The Prem 1s have a big match against College Rifles, the quarter final for the Keven Mealamu knock-out Cup.
Moses Hafoka captains from the front row, with the team featuring nine debutants. Fresh from playing at the Super Rugby Under 20 tournament for Moana Pasifika, Boston Krone starts at halfback and Vili Havili will add his impact off the bench.
Former Ranga juniors also make their senior return and premier debut with Kade Bramwell (Macleans College) starting at lock and Gary Basson (Botany College) at centre.
Other debutants are prop Toma Laumalili, loose forward Tui Ta’ofi, first five eighths Nic Proffit and off the bench Brian Leali’ifano and Sam Tuimana.
A late default in the Patrick Tuipulotu Cup will see our Prem 2 team automatically advance to the semi finals later this season, and a match scheduled against the Waitakere Premiers.
The team will be captained by Jake Barfoot who returns from a few years playing in the Coromandel and starts in the number 7 jersey. Oisin Dunn adds to the Dunn dynasty at the Ranga, in his first year out of St Kents he will start at second five-eighths, joining Pasqualle, Tane and Andre as senior club players and sister Tiana who plays for the Jadez.
The Under 21s will be looking to go two for two after their impressive start to the season last week. They’ll host Manukau who also had a big win last weekend.
The team are captained by Jake McCabe and have four debutants this weekend in Paula Cakautini, Zephanaia Lototau, Luke Grant and Divan Lourens.
The Belles are the fourth team playing at home tomorrow in a pre-season hit out against University. It's not too late to join if you or someone you know might be keen to give women's rugby a go.
