Our Under 12 and Under 13 players were celebrated last week at their prizegiving, an extra special evening as many of the players finish their junior rugby at Pakuranga before heading off to college.

The Under 13 Pumas’ Jackson Ledingham was recognised as the best player across all junior grades with the Nan Bell Memorial Trophy.

“Passion for the game and the club shines through in Jackson’s willingness to help with training and match duties, which has also helped develop his leadership qualities.

“His dedication to honing skills, even outside of regular team training, sets him apart, making his absence noticeable when not on the field and opposition coaches frequently remark on this his exceptional talent.”

In the Under 12s, Zach Lee from the Superchargers won the Jeremy Field Memorial Trophy for team player of the year and Oliver White was named the most promising open player, receiving the Shaun Cassidy Memorial Trophy.

“Zach is known for his strong leadership skills, and is recognized by opposition teams as a formidable presence on the field. His unwavering passion for the game and dedication to team spirit make him a standout example of a team player.”

“Whether it be through strong running, quicker passing, more accurate kicking or sharpening up of defence, Oliver has always put his best foot forward and encouraged his fellow players along the way.”

Off field Lauren Williams was awarded the W.S Turner Trophy for intermediate team management and Greg Van Niekerk won the Roger Priest Cup for volunteer of the season.
