Pakuranga Director of Rugby Grant Boof Henson congratulated all those recognised with selections.

“These selections are well deserved after a lot of hard work that has been going on across the board. We have already seen Sione take the field for Tonga this season, and Jerry scored two tries on debut for Wairarapa. We look forward to seeing all our Ranga players in action over the next month or so.

“From a club perspective, it is the result of what we have been doing with our rugby programme. We want to be a club of choice within east Auckland; we want players to want to come here for a good experience and to be a place where they can better themselves and grow their rugby.

“We want more reps and we want them at the highest level – Auckland NPC and FPC so there is work to do but we are so proud of all our players and management in 2024.”

Pakuranga coaches and managers will once again work with the regions best developing talent with representative coaching appointments.

“The club really benefits from our coaches and managers having involvement in rep programmes. Working with other high quality coaches, and players and learning new skills - we can bring that back to the club and continue to evolve as coaches. It also shows a pathway for through the club which hopefully provides motivation for other coaches.”

*Some players listed above have withdrawn from the representative season due to personal commitments but we at Pakuranga wanted to acknowledge their initial selection into these teams
